East Team Wins Riley Plate, 23 to 13

The beautiful Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Colonial Williamsburg was the site of the 9th Annual World 100 Club competition.

The East Team, vying for their first Riley Plate since Torrey Pines in 2007, came out blazing in the better ball matches, winning four matches and halving an additional four on the Gold Course.

They picked up steam in the Stableford matches winning a jaw-dropping 7 of the 9 matches on a drizzly day on the Green Course. The East had a 13 to 5 lead going into Sunday's singles matches and did not let up, going

10 and 8 on the Gold Course. The final tally was an epic 23 to 13 beat down.

East Captain Steve Anthony coasted to a 13 stroke victory for the Club Cup (Low Net).  His opening round of 80 (net 62) was by far the lowest net round of the tournament. Bill Roddy edged out James

Varnam by one stroke to claim his first Club Vase (Low Gross). The initial Club Jugs (for team MVPs) went to Mike Durham and David Pendarvis, who both went 3 and 0 in their matches.
